Overview
In the end it turns out that being alive was about moving, Javier de Juan

Freedom becomes apparent, we move, yes, but nowhere. These are the circular struggles of people in their daily lives, trapped in continuous movement, in this busyness so as not to face the emptiness to which modern life drags us.

Juan's recent work sometimes evokes classical paintings, from the collective imagination, epic battles that could pass for rugby matches, struggles of modern man converted into this irrelevant circular game, stripped even of the law of gravity, where the characters seem to fly in circles. Or the case of his reproduction of the three graces of Rubens, where modern women look at each other, but do so through their mobile phones, submerging their identity and human relations in alienating technology.

Javier de Juan is a multimedia creator who works from large murals to installations and audiovisual projections. His work is intimately related to the time and places in which he lives, in which the characters appear ethereal and undefined, generally faceless and with a mastery of the strength of the basic colours white, red and black.

Javier de Juan's signature has been regularly present at national and international fairs, ARCO, FIAC in Paris, the Kunstmesse in Zurich, Chicago, Miami, New York... and is present in collections and foundations all over the world. His work in serial art has earned him the National Printmaking Award and the Pop Eye Award for his career in the visual arts.
