Hubertus Von Hohenlohe | Narcisistic Overload
Galería Isolina Arbulu | 07.16.2021 - 09.16.2021

Marbella 20 July 2021 - Last Friday the exhibition of the photographer Hubertus Von Hohenlohe was inaugurated with all the glamour of Marbella. An atypical artist, a man of action with a peculiar trajectory that leads him to contemplate the world from a singular perspective.

Hubertus Von Hohenlohe infiltrates his photographs in a shameless and almost arrogant way, being both spectator and protagonist, an uninvited voyeur who sneaks into his own party. The artist successfully mixes intuition and careful post-production work to create a universe that is totally playful, fresh and different.

For those of us who have been in Marbella for years, the name Hohenlohe is indisputably associated with our city, Hubertus does not seek to hide his legacy and the energy that he exudes in all facets of his eclectic life can be seen unashamedly in his work where he has managed to find, with great success, a voice that is undeniably his own.

The works presented in this exhibition are a journey through the vibrant urban colours, fame, advertising messages and war cries that invade our space. The artist insolently and shamelessly appropriates everything that surrounds us, becoming the observer of the spectator; the observer of the narcissist.

In a society in which we live absorbed with our own image, where filters, likes and the abuse of exhibitionism have become part of everyday life, Hubertus is able to show us this reality with a brilliant irony. The character we thought we knew before even approaching him, is discovered, forcing us to reflect on our own prejudices, he shows us a mirror of our reality, and thus, the Narcissistic Overload that we thought we saw in others, we discover it in ourselves.

The exhibit can be visited at Galería Isolina Arbulú in Marbella, Spain.
OPEN HOURS: Monday to friday from 10 am to 2 pm, afternoons and saturdays by appiontment.
