The Isolina Arbulu Gallery (Marbella) and Tamara Kreisler Gallery are presenting the exhibition “Fragmentos Binarios”in Madrid by artist Jaime Velázquez, opening on February 27. The show is part of the lead-up circuit to Art Week, offering an artistic proposal that combines painterly tradition with contemporary visual culture.
Jaime Velázquez, originally from Cádiz and trained at the University of Seville, is known for his oil painting technique and a style that incorporates elements of graffiti. “Fragmentos Binarios” explores the relationships between artistic creation, the unconscious, and artificial intelligence. Through a critical approach, the artist reflects on how algorithmic systems shape our perception of the world, inviting viewers toward an open and reflective interpretation.
Velázquez’s creative process is based on the idea that artificial intelligence operates as a system without consciousness, generating images from human instructions in a way similar to dreaming. This approach connects with the notion of the “cognitive anaconda,” which highlights how algorithms can create bubbles that limit our view of the world.
The collaboration between Isolina Arbulu Gallery and Tamara Kreisler Gallery aims to connect emerging artists with more established careers, strengthening access to innovative proposals within Madrid’s art scene. “Fragmentos Binarios”brings together painterly technique, critical thinking, and contemporary technology, establishing Jaime Velázquez as a significant figure in current Spanish art, with a solo exhibition scheduled for next autumn in South Korea.
