Overview
De Agua, Ana Sanchez - Black Room
Ana Sanchez's new exhibition invites us to immerse ourselves in a universe of organic and dynamic forms that evoke the constant and changing movement of water.

Through sculptures made entirely from recycled paper, Ana transforms everyday materials into works of art that flow, vibrate and seem to come to life. These pieces, installed on the wall as three-dimensional reliefs, transmit an energy that oscillates between the ethereal and the earthly, suggesting the fluidity of a river, the undulations of the sea, or raindrops sliding across a surface.
Intuition and encounter are fundamental forces in Ana Sanchez's creative process. In her own words, she relies on ‘intuition and encounter in many aspects of my life and in particular, with my plastic and creative work’. Her approach is reminiscent of a collector, or perhaps a gleaner, who gathers and treasures materials found by chance, always chosen according to an intuitive logic. Recycled paper, the basis of her sculptures, is both the support and the medium of a constant search for plastic expressions that manage to move.
Water, as the central theme of the exhibition, is manifested not only in the forms of her pieces, but also in the philosophy that guides the artist's work: the organic nature of the creative process, the acceptance of the fortuitous, and the ability to adapt what she finds to create something new and full of meaning. In each sculpture, Ana captures visual and emotional sensations that resonate with the poetic and the metaphorical, uniting the natural and the created in a harmony that is, in essence, liquid.
The choice to use recycled paper is not only an aesthetic decision, but also a statement about transformation and resilience. Paper, a delicate yet resilient material, takes on new lives under the artist's hands, revealing unexpected textures and shapes reminiscent of the erosion of water on stone or the movement of wind on waves. De Agua's works seem to be in constant metamorphosis, capturing ephemeral moments that, like water, are never the same twice.
