‘I find myself somewhere between chaos and my final version. I am recovering, and that means I can start from anywhere.’
The beginning of everything
Andrea J. Buchanan
Entropy does not imply chaos, but transformation. In physics, it is the measure of the number of ways in which a system can organise itself. In this exhibition, it becomes a metaphor for the process that memory goes through when it suffers a fracture.
Based on interviews with patients from ADACEMA (Malaga Acquired Brain Injury Association), Entropic Natures gives shape to the intangible: loss, recomposition, the blurring of the self. The pieces, sculptures, installations and intervened objects evoke the decrystallisation of thought, the transition from solid to liquid, from stable to uncertain.
These works do not illustrate diagnoses, but rather raise questions: What remains when identity is fragmented? How is inner reality reconfigured?
A tribute to resilience, to the possibility of being otherwise.
