PAC | Javier de Juan

PAC | Plataforma de Arte Contemporáneo , January 8, 2026

Gallery Isolina Arbulu, in collaboration with gallery Yusto/Giner, presents the installation “Javier de Juan en el Laberinto” (Javier de Juan in the Labyrinth), a temporary exhibition that, like the city that inspires it, is dynamic, changing, and constantly reinventing itself.

The artist Javier de Juan, a key figure in the Nueva Figuración Madrileña (New Madrid Figuration) and La Movida movements, and a leading light in contemporary Spanish art, once again places Madrid at the center of his creative universe. A painter and visual storyteller, de Juan offers a reflection on the city's vital energy, its relentless rhythm, and its capacity for transformation.

Through a selection of works that combine painting, drawing, and artistic experimentation, the artist captures the urban pulse of a city that is drawn and erased, rebuilt every day from memory and light. Madrid thus becomes the stage, character, and metaphor for life itself: to move is to be alive.
