Marie-Isabelle Poirier-Troyano seamlessly blends her background in applied arts and interior design with a passion for traditional craftsmanship. Inspired by Asia, particularly Japan and China, she mastered the Shibori technique and integrated engraving into her artistic practice.


Her work draws from diverse influences, from the Bauhaus movement to Chinese expatriate artists like Chu Teh-Chun and Zao Wu-Ki. Poirier-Troyano’s versatility spans textiles, drawing, furniture design, and jewelry creation.


With accolades such as the “Premio Nacional de Grabado Contemporáneo María Teresa Toral” (2019), she shares her expertise through lectures and exhibits internationally. Currently collaborating with the Armel Soyer gallery, Poirier-Troyano looks forward to her next exhibitionin Saint Tropez on April 15, 2023.

Biography

Marie Isabelle Poirier-Troyano is a french/andalusian multidisciplinary artist known for her mastery in sculpture, engraving, and textile creations who currently works in Genalguacyl. With a foundation in applied arts from École Boulle and graphic arts from Les Gobelins in Paris, she furthered her skills in workshops across Marbella, Málaga, and Barcelona.


Her work has been showcased globally, including solo exhibitions in Marbella and participation in collective exhibits such as ARCO 2024 and curated shows like “Crisálidas.” Marie Isabelle has received recognition, including the María Teresa Toral Prize in 2019 and awards in sculpture and goldsmithery.


Through her art, Poirier-Troyano explores themes of identity and transformation, captivating audiences with a unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary vision.
