Here's looking at you: Group exhibit - Black room

17 February - 17 March 2023
The famous phrase "Here's looking at you, Kid" from Casablanca is a toast, Americans have been using it since the 20th century, even long before the film. Although there is no literal toast, it means to honour the person you are talking to. The toast "Here's looking at you" comes from the fact that the person being addressed and the person receiving the toast are often facing each other as they speak.

In this selection of works, each piece challenges the viewer to participate, thus honouring and acknowledging the viewer as a present and integral part of the situation. Some artworks have the ability to seek complicity and keep the observer wondering what else is going on, what am I missing? Each of the selected works in this group exhibition has a secret waiting to be discovered.
