Overview
Wild at heart, weird on top, Nanon Morsink - Black room
Isolina Arbulu Gallery in Marbella presents Nanon Morsinks' latest exhibition, a collection of works that explore the dichotomy between the visible and the invisible. Her pieces will be displayed between March 25th and May 22nd in the dark room of the gallery, creating an atmosphere of mystery and intrigue that aims to draw viewers in.

Paintings and sculptures made from found and recycled materials, a set of works on canvases intervened with ropes that both trap and envelop the faces of women who defiantly observe us, accompanied by sculptures that are very characteristic of Morsink's work, where fetishism takes on a peculiar role. Through her artwork, Morsinks invites us to confront the discomfort that comes with acknowledging the existence of that which is hidden, yet undeniably present. Her depictions of women in various states of power, coquettishness, and doubt convey a sense of vulnerability that is both unsettling and captivating.

Despite this vulnerability, Morsinks' women exude a sense of strength and resilience. They confront the wild and weird world around them with a sense of fearlessness that is both inspiring and empowering. Their apparent naivety only serves to highlight their inherent power, as they navigate the complexities of their existence with grace and poise.

Morsinks' work challenges us to look beyond the surface, to confront the uncomfortable truths that lie beneath. Through her depictions of women, she invites us to question our own perceptions of power, vulnerability, and the invisible forces that shape our lives. In the darkness of the gallery, Morsinks' work comes alive, illuminating the hidden corners of our own psyche and inviting us to explore the depths of our own subconscious. It is a powerful exhibition that is not to be missed.
