Angélica Arbulú Receives the 2026 Paula Riff Award
Galería Isolina Arbulú is delighted to announce that gallery artist Angélica Arbulú has been awarded the 2026 Paula Riff Award, an international distinction recognising outstanding innovation in contemporary photography and lens-based practices.
Presented by the Center for Photographic Art in collaboration with Lenscratch, one of the leading international platforms dedicated to contemporary photography, the Paula Riff Award honours artists whose work expands the possibilities of the photographic medium through experimentation, materiality and original visual language.
Selected from an international pool of applicants, Angélica Arbulú was chosen by juror Tarrah von Lintel, who praised the artist's work for its distinctive visual voice and its ability to convey both intimacy and emotional depth. The award includes a feature interview published by Lenscratch, offering an in-depth look at Arbulú's artistic practice, influences and ongoing research.
Working at the intersection of photography, materiality and memory, Angélica Arbulú creates works that challenge the conventional understanding of the photographic image. Through a process that combines photographic techniques with physical intervention, her practice explores themes of identity, vulnerability and the passage of time, transforming each work into a unique object that exists between image and sculpture.
This award represents an important international recognition of Arbulú's artistic practice and further establishes her as one of the most compelling voices in experimental contemporary photography.
We warmly congratulate Angélica on this well-deserved achievement and look forward to continuing to present her work through Galería Isolina Arbulú.
