Overview
My work seeks to create an evocative atmosphere that allows the viewer to explore their own thoughts through details and visual narrative, using colour and natural light as tools to evoke emotions and reflections
"In Ignacio Tovar's paintings, captivating and suggestive, colour not only accompanies, but also displays a structural effort that reaches a remarkable aesthetic level, completely attracting the viewer's attention.

His creative process begins with a meticulous decantation of the central theme: water. Represented by means of curved and parallel lines that evoke the flow of this vital element, Tovar weaves a visual narrative that, more than an excuse, serves as an anchor to develop a painting that seeks to create an atmosphere and a space that, through suggestion, allows the viewer to explore his or her own thoughts as he or she traverses the details of the work.

In his snapshots from the "Bodegones" series, Tovar uses natural light with the primary objective of generating a special atmosphere by affecting the objects arranged on the table, always respecting the natural rhythms.

Throughout his artistic career, this Andalusian painter has been the beneficiary of prestigious grants, such as those from the Casa de Velázquez, the Ministry of Culture's Centre for the Promotion of Plastic Arts and Research into New Expressive Forms, the March Foundation and the United States Information Agency.

His work has been exhibited in numerous Spanish galleries and museums, and his work can currently be found in outstanding collections, such as those of the Museo de Arte Abstracto Español (Cuenca), the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo (Seville), the Fundación Caixa de Pensiones (Barcelona) and the Biblioteca Nacional (Madrid), among others...".
