Overview
"In a globalised and technological world, my art becomes a safe haven where I can explore and question human identity".
Aware that we are windows to the world, Alicia chooses to open one, none or thousands of windows, understanding that everything we expose ourselves to penetrates and influences us.

In her constant research on how to portray a person's soul, Alicia is fascinated by the role of the subconscious in the process of creating our own identity. She recognises how all irrational forces are subtly channelled, revealing timeless symbols and myths, similar to those unveiled in a poetic tragedy of ancient Greece. The iconography of her work becomes an allegory of the fragility of the human condition.

Alicia Arlanda, bordering on caricature as an artistic style, finds in this expressive form the perfect vehicle to convey her feelings. Her work is developed in a dreamlike language, where humour and symbolism play an important role. Through her proposal, Alicia invites to self-acceptance, bursting the dangerous corset of self-deception and reaching free expression, thus awakening the deepest feelings.

Her work invites us to reflect on the importance of preserving our authenticity and connecting with our emotions in an environment that often challenges us to hide our true voices. Through her art, Alicia urges us to open our inner windows and find the courage to face vulnerability and the process of defining our own identity.
